Main medical treatments so to stabilize the hair loss

The main hair loss treatments for men are minoxidil (regaine, aminexil, alostil), finasteride (Propecia, Proscar) and Dutasteride (Proscar, Chibro Proscar)

For women, Minoxidil is the main medication. There are also Spironolactone (Aldactone) and Cyproterone acetate.

Vitamines and minerals are often recommended but they work only if the patient has a deficiency, which is rare.

Among the vitamines, note the Vitamine A, vitamines of the B group, vitamine C, and vitamine E

Regarding the minerals, Brass, Zinc, Selenium, Iode. Iron should be classified into another group as ti is VERY often the cause of hair loss in women.

Some specific treatments against a disease could fight the hair loss. For example, in cas of women hypothyroidism, the thyroid hormons or the anti-androgenes help.

Finally, be careful as many drugs can CAUSE hair loss.

Drugs like anti depressants (fluoxetine), anti cholesterol (Lopid), anti ulcerous (Zantac, Tagamet),  some acne medications (Roaccutane), anti inflammatory (indomethacine, naproxine), Beta blockers (sometimes written as β-blocker) like Inderal, Lopressor, Tenormin, or also the contraceptive pill.
