Are you a good candidate?

1

Your hair’s characteristics

Each person is a different case. Not every hair transplant is identical.
The density of the donor area determines the number of grafts available.

The average number of hairs/follicles determines the number of hairs available. The hair color and the contrast in color between your skin and hair will determine/define the impression of density.

The average diameter of your hair will also play an important role in the final result.

And, finally, the hair structure, whether straight or curly, will also influence the final result.

Is age an important factor?

The candidate's age is not that important. The baldness of a 25-year old man can be more important than that of a 50-year old man. This means that the progress of baldness rather than the age of the patient needs to be factored in when deciding in favor of surgery.

Nevertheless, it is essential to exercise extreme care when a younger patient, who is only slightly balding, wants to undergo surgery.

What is the best strategy?

There are some important rules to follow in order to avoid disappointment.
Baldness must always be considered as progressive.

Patients have to be treated as if they were in the last stage of this evolution.

Dr Cohen's chart allows us to perfectly monitor the evolution of each situation.

The donor area has to be analyzed and assesses the situation, while taking into account all the factors already mentioned: what are the current and future possibilities available for one or more procedures?
It is important to avoid putting a patient in such a situation that may affect him in the near future.

Actually, in most cases, baldness will continue/keep on progressing.
If the hair transplant does not contain a sufficiently high number of grafts or if the transplanted area is too small, the patient will find himself in an uncomfortable situation.
